Task 1. Complete the task. Memorize the names of the items and be able to describe their function. Look up in a dictionary any words you do not understand.

Task 4. Read the text at the bottom of the page. Look up any words you do not know. Be prepared to answer the questions at the top of the page. Also answer the questions below.

LANGUAGE WORK: GIVING ADVICE

Memorize the phrases you can use to give advice in English.

Write five examples where you give someone advice to do, or not do something. Include the reason. Do not repeat any of the examples in the Textbook.

Task 6. Look at the user of this workstation and give her advice on improvements she should make. Look at Task 1 for suggestions.
Task 7. Study the flowchart in Task 7 for choosing a printer. Decide which is the best kind of printer for these users.

Someone who needs to:
  1. print forms in two parts

WRITING

Task 8. Review Unit 7 and complete the task.

Read and record the text in Task 8 and send the recording to the instructor to be checked for accuracy.

Compose a dialogue between a salesperson at a computer store and someone who wants to buy a computer monitor and a printer. Compose a set of questions the salesperson might ask, and the answers given by the customer.
