Venetsianov, A. G. "Threshing Floor". 1821 - 1823

Notes: Threshing Floor Assembled almost as if posed for a 'tableau vivant,' in a dramatically receding barn interior appear nine figures interrupted at their chores. Though certain aspects of the composition may seem artificial, the elements are nonetheless beautifully arranged. Venetsianov uses his painterly gifts to craft a refined and poetic work.
